When is the best time to book a session?
Photographs of newborns is essential to capture those fast changing moments in a newborn’s life — those little hands, those feet. Newborns are best photographed before they turn 1 month as they’re still in their fetus” position. Get them photographed again after about 5-6 months of age, your child’s back muscles will be strong enough to hold him or her up a little bit more, and the smiles around this age are great. Then at 1 year, 2 years and so on.
When is a good time for a photo session?
Schedule your time when the baby sleeps, or during feeding time. The baby is usually asleep and that is the best time to bring them into the studio as we’ll be able to capture them in that sleeping position or just after awakening. Usually I like to schedule session in the mornings between 9 and 10:30 am because the natural light gives the best effect.
How much time should set aside for the session?
Generally you should allow an hour to an hour and a half for the session to allow time for changing and feeding if its necessary.
What kind of clothes work best?
Think simple. A stretchy hat or shoes or even a blanket that was made for the baby. Texture works better than pattern. You don’t want plaid or squares on the baby’s outfit as it might take away the beauty in the baby itself. Make sure you dress the baby in something easy to take off without disturbing the baby.
